Additional The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Information

Christopher John Francis Boone knows all the countries of the world and their capitals and every prime number up to 7,057. He relates well to animals but has no understanding of human emotions. He cannot stand to be touched. And he detests the color yellow.

This improbable story of Christopher’s quest to investigate the suspicious death of a neighborhood dog makes for one of the most captivating, unusual, and widely heralded novels in recent years.

What Customers Say About The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time:

Thorougly enjoyable, and humorous, too. Full disclosure: I am sick to death of all the books about autism out there, and I'm tired of having it crammed down my throat. I was surprised at how much I loved this book, and how engaging it was. Spoiler alert: 2 things I didn't like: 1) The main character was annoying by the end, and truly "only thinks about himself," as one character points out. To find this book, though, was a pleasant surprise. Couldn't put it down, and it gave me insight into an autistic mind. 2) The mother really shouldn't have been allowed back into Christopher's life. Highly recommend this book.

It was just a bit slow and a bit to easy of a read for me. I found it hard to relate to the characters as it was a bit extreme. I also found it to be very unrealistic and I don't think that the author put too much thought into how this kids life would REALLY be like or what he would ACTUALLY be thinking. Not a book of my taste.

He loves reading Shirlock Holmes and decides to write a murder mystery novel about "the curious incident of the dog in the night-time."The novel is meant to be written by Christopher (our main character) as he searches for clues to the mystery. It is told in first person from the point of view of an autistic teen. This novel is unlike any I have read before. He loves prime numbers so the chapters are each assigned one. He lives in a town in England and confines himself to a strict routine. Until one night he finds a dog that has just been killed. About half of the chapters are descriptions of his surroundings or past memories that don't move the plot forward and sometimes happen right in the thick of things but are very interesting. Short novel, but surprisingly moving.

this book is one of my favorite books of all time. it is a must read that is almost impossible to put down. i love it, the characters are awe-inspiring and the writing material is great.

Really well done involving story. Suitable for any age group. Anyone who deals with autistic/Aspergers or other perception "disorders" would find this interesting and valuable.
